the best thing about eating is not really about the food, taste, or feeling full. it’s really about the people you are eating with, exchange of words, and good times shared.

Meet Luke and Chloe. They’re not only amazingly talented photographers, they’re also in love. The chemistry that they share is evident through their photography which blends their two different styles to create amazing photographs. Chloe’s style is gentle and romantic style while Luke’s is cinematic. Their photos are elegant...

“Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on....

Macless
I always said that if I were to lose my mac or if something had ever happened to it, I would lose everything aka all my work. All those sleepless nights spent slaved away in front of my computer would be wasted. Good thing for backup external hard drives because now that my mac is gone, it doesn’t feel too terrible. A small spill by dad near the computer left it broken and completely...

Eavesdroppings: Do you eat feet?
About a week and a half ago, my sister and I were having a late night dinner at Tearrific in Chinatown. The tables are quite close together so even though we weren’t trying to listen in on the conversation between this Indian girl and Chinese guy next to us, we couldn’t help but overhear everything throughout the night.
So what caught my attention was when I heard him ask, “what...

One of the very nicest things about life is the way we must regularly stop whatever it is we are doing and devote our attention to eating.

the end of EHP in rome culminated in a final exhibition of our work. images from my work in the show.

a taste of my experiment titled: leftovers
it was a beautiful weekend during the royal wedding in london. besides the royal wedding, the highlight of the weekend was seeing kiera knightly on stage in the play, the children’s hour. and teatime in soho’s secret tea room. if you are headed to london and want to experience teatime for a reasonable price, i highly recommend this place as well! i believe it was 15 pounds for the...
back in may, i went to holland for a weekend and finally made it to visit proef! wish i could’ve gotten in touch with marije vogelzang but timing was off. one day, i’ll return and get my chance to meet her and visit her studio!
the meal was delicious and definitely beautiful in aesthetic and taste, but no where as strange as some of her eating designs. still, it was a fun and...
people are wondering what i did with my time in rome, workwise, so here are photos from my first food experiment, sandwiched. others ask how i started doing this and my answer is that i simply want to combine my passion for food with design. it isn’t so much about the design of the food, but the experience of eating for the specific individual. these are all still experiments and i look...

today is a beautiful day to mail some postcards at the vatican. apparently italy has raised its postage to the US from 85 cents to 1.60, how ridiculous. i hope all this mail makes it safely across the ocean.
irish cream to kick off st. patty’s day!
kehuey: e stands for eng, my middle name. and huey for my last name. but according to my dad, huey is an irish last name. and my real last name is eng. apparently when my grandfather came over to the US, he came with someone else’s papers whose last name was huey. my parents wanted us to remember our family name which is why eng still...

today i started a new project with collages. i know, it’s quite a mess!
as usual frank got me thinking, but this time, i was rather intrigued by the writing. hopefully before time runs out, i’ll actually complete some real work. and be able to get everything out before my own charge is up.
viafrank:
I’ve got one charge left. Only a few minutes of battery on this laptop, and a cacophony of thoughts to spew out before the screen goes black. I left my charger in...

so while in florence, i also stumbled upon love locks, a custom where sweethearts link padlocks to a public fixture to symbolize their love. these are all over the world but the first time i’ve seen them.
“locking a padlock and throwing away the key” that’s actually pretty precious.

14/2/2011 was the most epic valentine’s day dinner, risd ehp style.
not gonna lie, best valentine’s so far ;)
buon san valentino.
i think i’ll title this, emily.
p.s. i hope she doesn’t mind.
came across a turquoise sweater hanging on the street.
I will be honest and admit that a self-driven project has been difficult for me to start since I have been here. Today, it has been exactly three weeks since I have arrived in roma. But sometimes I feel as if I’ve wasted precious time because I haven’t physically produced anything substantial. But I’m also reminded that I have absorbed alot (really, it’s true) since...

Ciao!
I am now in Roma, Italia. The adjustment has been slow and overwhelming. But this city is definitely amazing!
Things I’ve learned: italians are very expressive, i love and hate cobblestone (its beautiful but hard to walk on!), rome is a very difficult city to navigate through (i have accepted getting lost as a daily routine), the taste of real cappuccino, and how it is possible to...
